Don Francisco, like the vast majority of his neighbors, was born and raised in a family of small coffee growers who for generations have transmitted not only the knowledge about the activities of the crop but also the love and dedication
passion for the care of his coffee plantations. A cheerful and hard-working man, he does not lose his enthusiasm for working his coffee plantations. His plots are located on the slopes of the Tacaná volcano, which gives it a special quality and flavor that, added to its
great work, the result is a unique coffee, full of love and dedication to the land.
The influence of this family in their community has been very important, as thanks to their example, many more small producers have joined the community over time.
Community: La Soledad, Tapachula, Chiapas, Mexico.
Ejido La Soledad is a beautiful community nestled in the mountains of the Sierra Madre de Chiapas. To get to this place, you have to walk along paths between rocks and rivers, cross long wooden bridges, and walk among the mules that pass by on the road carrying and bringing everything they need in the community. The locals are mostly small coffee producers. Their plants are located on the mountainsides. These are difficult-to-access areas, and every year they use mules to bring their crops down to the nearest town, from where they are transported in vehicles for distribution.
