About Us

We are a social impact cooperative with a clear vision: "to offer good, quality specialty coffee at a fair price for everyone." We work ethically, responsibly, and conscientiously for sustainably grown, organic coffees from small producers. We always respect the origin, fair trade, respect for the coffee farmer, and the marketing of their coffee.

We are proud to be ambassadors of Mexican specialty coffee in Spain and Europe, offering our customers unique, artisanal, and high-quality coffee. We also focus on other origins under the same umbrella.

Our history and trajectory

La Chiapaneca was founded in Barcelona in the midst of the pandemic as a Catalan cooperative in 2019 by two entrepreneurs, responding to a need in the Spanish market for quality Mexican coffee and educating consumers about the importance of quality Mexican coffee in Spain. A coffee that is still unknown to many, but a firm favorite for others due to its quality and flavor.

The beginning of our adventure as a new specialty coffee supplier was challenging, but not impossible, as we positioned the brand in Spain and Europe. From the second year in 2020 to 2025, we have positioned our coffees in various European markets.

Since May 2025, we have adopted new origins in our family, under the same concept: coffees from the Dominican Republic and Ethiopia.

After six years of experience in the specialty coffee world, with a more solid team, we know the importance of offering a unique experience with every cup. Traceability is therefore very important to us. We are as transparent as possible with our customers, from the coffee selection process to the final consumer. Traceability is valued, providing excellent service and quality at every step of the process.
