COFFEE FROM THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC
Dominican Republic coffee has a very distinct and diverse personality because it is grown in various mountain ranges and valleys, almost always at altitude (from 600 to over 1,500 meters above sea level), under natural shade, and in humid tropical climates. It is a smooth and rounded coffee with a clean finish, highly appreciated internationally. It is almost always grown on small family farms, using traditional practices. Barahona, considered among the best in the country, is full-bodied and has sweet notes. Ideal for enjoying straight or as an espresso.
LOS LIRIOS FARM
Honeyed coffee from Finca Los Lirios in the Dominican Republic is a specialty coffee distinguished by its unique process and refined sensory profile. Originating in the province of Barahona, in the southern region of the country, the farm is located between 900 and 1,100 meters above sea level. The production process follows the "Mieludo" method, also known as the "Honey Process." After the ripe berries are manually harvested, the beans are pulped and allowed to dry slowly with their mucilage (the sticky layer surrounding the bean), allowing the natural sugars to penetrate the bean and provide additional sweetness.
The farm operates under sustainable practices, cultivating under the shade of native trees and using techniques that promote biodiversity. Production is limited, with approximately 5 bags per hectare, highlighting the focus on quality over quantity.
